Purpose
The American Neurotology Society (ANS) is committed to improving public
health care through the provision of high-quality continuing medical
education (CME) to our members. The overall goal of the ANS CME committee
is to provide CME activities that will address the knowledge gaps and
enhance the clinical competence of the participants.
The ANS Continuing Medical Education Mission Statement shall be:
Target Audience
The ANS CME efforts are primarily focused on current and potential
members of the society. This consists predominantly of practicing otolaryngologists,
otologists, neurotologists, skull base surgeons, and allied health
professionals including neurosurgeons, otoneurologists, audiologists,
residents in training and researchers in these fields.
Types of Activities Provided
In order to accomplish the goals of the ANS CME program, the continuing
education committee will offer a range of activities with specific educational
outcomes in mind. Current offerings include:
• Scientific symposia, delivered twice per year at national
venues, showcasing the latest research in the field and
featuring national and international experts on related clinical
topics.
• Courses and workshops offered at the annual meeting of the American
Academy of
Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
• Facilitation of manuscript submission on presented materials
for publication in a peer reviewed journal (Otology & Neurotology).
Content
The content of the ANS CME program centers around clinical issues
related to Neurotology and disorders of the skull base. The ANS
also strives to respond to our members’ educational
needs that are not being met by other organizations, and therefore
also offers activities in the areas of risk management, patient
safety, physician-patient communications, coding, HIPAA compliance,
and
other regulatory issues as they relate to Neurotology.
Expected Results
The CME program of the ANS strives to enhance the participants’ knowledge
and clinical competence in subject areas relevant to the field
of Neurotology.
We have changed our look and added some new features to the site.
Quicker access to downloadable forms, new google search and easier
newsletter retrieval are made easier. Please keep coming back for

The American
Neurotology Society is committed to the non-promotional
advancement of knowledge and science and to a free exchange of medical
education in otology and neurotology.
